How Your Self Talk Can Sabotage Or Support You

We all have an inner voice. The patterns with which that voice speaks, whether critical and condescending or compassionate and caring can have a major impact on our lives and how we relate to the world around us. It impacts our self confidence, motivation and drive. It impacts our moods and what we can accomplish.

The patterns with which that voice speaks were developed in part by the voices we heard most often in our formative years as our brains were developing. The voices of our caregivers, what we heard at school or in the media and many other factors all played a role. While we may not have had control in the tone of voice that developed, we do have a say in how it speaks to us today.

Likely you may not even be aware of the patterns because they are so ingrained. In my recent article for Tiny Buddha we'll explore how to notice the patterns that are not serving you and how to change those patterns to be a source of empowerment, motivation and joy.
