In today’s post I want to talk about what happens when life tests us. Tests could mean an actual test such as for school or a job or it could mean a big project, a new endeavor or anything else that you feel blocked around.
Life often presents us with challenging situations that can trigger anxiety and dread. These feelings, while uncomfortable, are normal human responses to stress. The key is learning to manage them effectively.
Whatever tests are coming up for you, let’s explore how to approach them with more ease.
When faced with significant challenges, a whirlwind of emotions can overwhelm us. Anxiety manifests as a tightness in the chest, racing thoughts, and a persistent sense of worry. Dread settles in the pit of the stomach, a heavy weight that makes even simple tasks feel insurmountable.
Self-doubt creeps in, whispering questions about our capabilities. Fear of failure looms large, casting a shadow over our potential for success. Physical symptoms like sweaty palms, rapid heartbeat, and shallow breathing often accompany these feelings. Time seems to slow down, yet simultaneously, the deadline rushes towards us at an alarming pace. It's a complex emotional cocktail that can leave us feeling paralyzed and overwhelmed.
One powerful tool to deal with those complex emotions is EFT Tapping and Matrix Reimprinting where we physically tap on acupuncture/acupressure points on the body. Using EFT we are tapping on the present day version of you and the feelings come up around past events stored in your body and fears about future events.
With Matrix we are tapping on the younger version of you and the decisions you made through an uncomfortable experience or we can tap on a future version of you where we imagine what that future version is feeling in a stressful situation to bring a sense of calm that prepares you for the actual experience.
Here's how EFT can help with the anxiety from life’s tests:
Reducing stress: By identifying and addressing the root causes of your anxiety, EFT can help you feel more relaxed and focused.
Improving focus: EFT can help you stay present and focused on the task at hand, rather than getting caught up in negative thoughts.
Boosting confidence: By reducing anxiety and improving focus, EFT can help you feel more confident and prepared for whatever exams life is sending your way.
Lowering Cortisol: EFT lowers cortisol level, taking you out of fight/flight/freeze and providing access to higher brain functions and decision making.
Improving Emotional Regulation: EFT can help to improve emotional regulation, making it easier to manage stress and anxiety in the long term.
When faced with an actual test, here are the experiences from two clients:
I have a daughter that deals with a lot of anxiety when it comes to test taking, and I wondered if Gregg would be open to having a session with her to see if he could provide any assistance to help calm her anxiety. Thank goodness, my daughter was open to trying it. After the second session, she said that it was easy to talk to him and that it went all right. A week or two gone by and my daughter was going through her exams and preparing for her final exams for her senior year. I had started to notice a difference in her attitude towards her exams. She seems very calm and very present. It was such a pleasant change. She didn’t seem overly stressed or overwhelmed like she had been previously before she had sessions with gregg. They only had two sessions. I found that her talk with gregg helped tremendously and I still to this day, do not know what they discussed, but I did notice the change and I’m very grateful that both my daughter and gregg were open to exploring. Thanx Gregg for your support and your amazing abilities. - Christina C.
Gregg is both incredibly perceptive and intuitive, and he employs both to great benefit throughout a session. I was initially skeptical to try a tapping session to treat a throbbing migraine, but under one hour later, I was both pain free, and a believer. I also tapped with Gregg before a high pressure licensure exam. Although I cannot attribute my success wholly to our pre-exam tapping session, I am certain that it helped me to maintain equanimity in the face of incredible stress. There is a saying that 'some things scratch the surface while others strike at your soul'; Gregg truly touches one's soul.” -Velainor P.
